一直都很喜歡 Clay Aiken 的歌，這首 Grace Of God 更是有很多值得思考的空間。這些年來都發生很多的事，911、地震、海潚，最近還發生了「馬尼拉槍手脅持旅行團」的事件。常常都有人問，如果上帝是慈愛、是公義的，為甚麼祂要讓這些事情發生、流無辜人的血? 我們都很痛心，可是對於這些事我們只能旁觀著，並沒有甚麼可以做的。
副歌裡說到這些事的發生一定是有一些原因、有一些理由的，歌者很想為這些不公平的事找到一個合理的解釋。但為著神的恩典，即使沒有一個合理的解釋，歌者還是繼續努力下去。整首歌裡面沒有說明甚麼是神的恩典，也沒有解釋怎樣能夠「for the grace of God go I」。是的，我們很難相信眼看不見的神，順服於一些我們覺得不合理的事情。我想這是信神的人一個很大的考驗，也是一個很奇妙的恩典。你不信，你覺得不合理，大可以掉頭就走，沒有人阻止你，事實上很多人也這麼做了。但當一個人見著這麼多的事，心裡經過這麼多的掙扎，還能放下自己的那一套、選擇繼續相信，有那個選擇的能力，是神的恩典。
